The setup program will offer to automatically place an icon upon the computer's main 'desktop' display. By default this option has been pre-set as being required. As the only way these programs can be launched (started) is via a desktop icon then there cannot be very many reasons for cancelling this option. However PC convention and courtesy means the option is offered.
